In our closing concerts for this wonderful 2016 season, Resonance presents the final sonatas written by both Mozart and Schubert. Amazingly contrasting, they both speak volumes about the end of the lives of two composers who died so tragically young. Mozart's vibrant, playful yet complex Sonata in D major is almost a mature reflection on his youth, whilst Schubert's timeless last sonata is both an acceptance of impending death and an embrace of everything that is human and alive.
As always, a fabulous drinks party will follow the concert!
W.A. Mozart - Sonata in D major, K.576
F. Schubert - Sonata in B-flat major, D.90
