This July in Victoria, Resonance presents a thrilling programme of music for violin, cello and piano.

Bohuslav Martinů was a Czech composer best know for his combinations of Bohemian folk melodies and impassioned dance rhythms. The set of five "Bergerettes" (composed in 1939) is both lively and lyrical and is a spectacular work to hear live in concert.

Mendelssohn's first piano trio is a staple of the repertoire for this combination, and was famously chosen to be performed for President Kennedy and esteemed guests at the now-legendary "Concert at The White House".  It perfectly represents the early-Romantic period with soaring melodies and thrilling virtuosity.
